About Us
NIS is a family owned and operated company now based in Auckland, New Zealand, having relocated from Parker, Colorado. We are a family of six, including four humans, a dog named Niko and a bearded dragon named Kiryu. There are also a smattering of Alpacas about our place, and a random goat named Chris.
The brains of the operation at NIS is Ray, a techie guru from NYC, who pulled computers apart as a kid and then grew up to spend 20 years in corporate American telecommunication companies. Before heading to NZ, Ray was a Director of Access Network Development at Charter Communications, leading multiple departments, managers and teams of highly technical senior engineers. Ray was responsible for multi-million dollar annual budgets and was known for his ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and efficiency across various departments and corporate hierarchies.
Ray now enjoys a much slower-paced life on the family farm near Clevedon. He is still tinkering with technology and sharing his network integration expertise across varied industries. An active relaxer and licensed amateur radio operator, you will often find Ray repairing vintage computers and figuring out how to implement whatever crazy ideas his wife has come up with recently.
Behind the scenes, said wife, Lee-Anne, is a born and raised Kiwi who runs the administrative side of the business. Lee-Anne loves planning adventures for the family, yoga, bush walks and beverages on the beach.
